KENAI PENINSULA BUILDERS ASSOCIATION
SHELBY JOHNSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Three $1,000.00 SCHOLARSHIPS

Any member of the Kenai Peninsula School District 2010 Senior Class, or High School Graduate residing on the Kenai Peninsula who plans to pursue a career in a building-related field, and who will attend an eligible community college, university, or vocational school in the State of Alaska, is eligible to apply for a Kenai Peninsula Builders Association scholarship. Up to three (3) $1,000.00 awards are available this year.

A building-related field includes, but is not limited to: Heating, Ventilation, Electrical or Welding Technology; Carpentry, Building Trades, Interior Design, Structural Design, Architecture, Office Management, etc.

All scholarships are in the form of a "Letter of Award" issued by the Kenai Peninsula Builders Association, and moneys will be released upon receipt of "Verification of Enrollment" to be sent by the proper school authorities. Any scholarship funds paid to the school and not used will be returned to the Kenai Peninsula Builders Association before July 1, 2011. This award will not cover any payments for any academic year begun prior to June 1, 2010.

All applicants must send all school transcripts with the attached application, any personal references, and a personal essay outlining goals, needs, accomplishments and objectives of the applicant. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Criteria for Scholarship Award:

Interviews are scheduled to be held April 28 & 29 at Residential Mortgage, 44296 Sterling Hwy., Ste 1, Soldotna. All applicants will be notified within one week of interviews as to whether or not they are to receive one of our scholarships.
